Basketball Recap: Tiospa Zina Takes a Loss

Tiospa Zina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt an 88-33 loss at the hands of the Omaha Nation Chiefs. The Wambdi lost against the Chiefs in their previous head to head back in January of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 75-73 score last time.

Tiospa Zina's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Omaha Nation, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tiospa Zina will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Webster at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Omaha Nation also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Tekamah-Herman at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Omaha Nation has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
