Baseball Game Preview: Whitewater Whippets vs. Monroe Cheesemakers

For the second straight game, Whitewater will face off against Monroe. The Whippets will welcome the Cheesemakers at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Whitewater has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Whitewater came up short against Monroe on Tuesday, falling 20-5. The loss continues a trend for the Whippets in their meetings with the Cheesemakers: they've now lost three in a row.

For Monroe's part, they got a massive performance out of Eli Schaefer, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Ashton Hale was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Monroe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Whitewater's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Monroe, they moved to 5-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
