Softball Recap: Elysian Fields Takes a Loss

After flying high against Sabine on Saturday, Elysian Fields came back down to earth. The Elysian Fields Yellowjackets took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Queen City Bulldogs on Saturday. The Yellowjackets have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Elysian Fields saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madi Owens, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Owens has posted over her last ten matches. Kaylen Commander was another, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Elysian Fields' loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Queen City, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-8.

Elysian Fields has already played their next contest, a 13-7 defeat against Overton on the 4th. As for Queen City, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 22-2 loss against Hooks on the 4th.
