Softball Recap: Woodridge Bulldogs vs. Norton Panthers
Woodridge had lost 19 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-17 to make it 20. They came up short against the Norton Panthers, falling 12-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-5 last Wednesday.
Woodridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julia Elkins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
As for Norton, the victory got them back to even at 7-7-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for they.
On Norton's side, Addison Calo and Chloe Womble did most of the damage at the plate: Calo went 2-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI, while Womble went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Coming up, Woodridge will square off against Manchester at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
