Recap: Marion-Franklin Red Devils vs. Eastmoor Academy Warriors
The Marion-Franklin Red Devils pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 66-65 to Eastmoor Academy. Marion-Franklin lost against Eastmoor Academy in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 81-44 score last time.
Eastmoor Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but James Nowell led the charge by scoring 14 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was King Moody, who scored 19 points along with two steals.
Marion-Franklin now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Eastmoor Academy, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-6.
Marion-Franklin will challenge Briggs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastmoor Academy, they will be playing at home against Africentric Early College at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Africentric Early College has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 208 points over their last three matches.
