Volleyball Game Preview: Padua Franciscan Bruins vs. Independence Blue Devils

The Padua Franciscan Bruins will venture away from home to challenge the Independence Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Padua Franciscan will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Padua Franciscan made easy work of Beaumont School and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Padua Franciscan took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-13, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Independence got the win against Trinity on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Independence was: they took every set by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-10, 25-8.

Padua Franciscan better keep an eye on Julia Jurkiewicz. She was instrumental in Independence's win, getting 21 assists and six aces. That's the most aces Jurkiewicz has posted since back in August.

Padua Franciscan's record now sits at 13-5. As for Independence, their record is now 14-4.
