Piute came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 59-53 win over the Valley Buffalos. That's more bragging rights for the Thunderbirds, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Piute pushed their record up to 11-9 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-4.
