Basketball Game Preview: North Vermilion Patriots vs. Northside Vikings

The North Vermilion Patriots will take on the Northside Vikings on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: North Vermilion has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Northside will arrive with five straight victories.

North Vermilion is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since December 19, 2024 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Westgate 69-41.

Meanwhile, Northside beat Teurlings Catholic 48-41 on Tuesday. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Rebels are ranked 101st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northside pushed their record up to 25-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points over those games. As for North Vermilion, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-14.
