Baseball Game Preview: Delphi Community Oracles vs. West Lafayette Red Devils

The Delphi Community Oracles will square off against the West Lafayette Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. West Lafayette took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Delphi Community, who comes in off a win.

Delphi Community is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Monday. They put the hurt on Clinton Central with a sharp 11-1 win.

Delphi Community got a massive performance out of Brett Huffman, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave Huffman a new career-high. Keygan Elliott was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Delphi Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clinton Central only posted an OBP of .292.

Meanwhile, West Lafayette had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against Western on Thursday, falling 13-3.

Ben Werth made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of LJ Whitford, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
