Football Game Preview: Cascade Christian Cougars vs. Tenino Beavers

The Cascade Christian Cougars will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Tenino Beavers at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Cascade Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last five contests.

On Saturday, Cascade Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-38 to Life Christian Academy. The loss was the Cougars' first of the season.

Cascade Christian might have lost, but man, Tayven Collins was a machine: he rushed for 204 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries, and also threw for 132 yards and a pair of TDs. Josiah Laurence was in the mix as well, providing the Cougars with two scores.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 16 points in total. Brody Robertson delivered a perfect 3-3 game. One of the most memorable scores? An impressive kickoff return for a touchdown from Collins.

Even if they lost, Cascade Christian's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Asher Floyd refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself.

Despite a strong season so far, Tenino has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They fell 33-20 to Aberdeen on Thursday. While the Beavers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bobcats 7-0 in the first quarter.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cascade Christian fell to 8-1. As for Tenino, their record is now 6-3.
