IDEA Frontier College Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alejandro Maldonado, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Maldonado has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Victor Mendez, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for IDEA Frontier College Prep and bumps their season record up to 7-10. As for IDEA Weslaco Pike, their loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 7-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. IDEA Frontier College Prep will face off against Lyford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for IDEA Weslaco Pike, they will head out on the road to take on Santa Rosa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Rosa knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully IDEA Weslaco Pike likes a good challenge.
