Softball Recap: Northeastern Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

It's playoff time, and Northeastern had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Centerville Bulldogs by a score of 5-2 on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won four games in a row.

Zella Cook spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Isabella Peed was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one double. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Macey Oler, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Northeastern's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Centerville, they moved to 11-9 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Northeastern has already played their next matchup, a 6-1 loss against Eastern Hancock on the 2nd. Centerville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
