Baseball Recap: Cypress Creek Takes a Loss

Cypress Creek lost against Horizon back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cypress Creek Bears took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Horizon Hawks. The Bears just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Aaron Green was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Cypress Creek saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesus Barreto, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Adrian Medina also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Cypress Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Horizon, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

Looking ahead, Cypress Creek will be playing in front of their home fans against Innovation at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Horizon, they will head out on the road to square off against Foundation Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
