Volleyball Game Preview: Freedom Patriots vs. Liberty Hurricanes

The Freedom Patriots are taking a road trip to face off against the Liberty Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Freedom is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Bethlehem Catholic just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Hawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Patriots have suffered since October 9, 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Bethlehem Catholic scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Liberty came up short against Nazareth Area on Monday, falling 3-0.

Liberty was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-21, 25-10.

Freedom's defeat dropped their record down to 20-7-2. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11-2.

Freedom beat Liberty 3-1 in their previous matchup back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
