Volleyball Recap: Belmont Takes a Loss

Belmont lost against Arlington back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Marauders fell 3-1 to the Spy Ponders. The Marauders just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Belmont started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-19, 25-17, 25-20.

Arlington found their leader in freshman Liam Leclercq, who had 34 assists and four digs. Caleb Blaquiere also deserves some recognition as he had his first digs of the season.

Belmont now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Arlington, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belmont will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Winchester at 5:15 p.m. on the 29th. As for Arlington, they will take on Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
