Baseball Recap: Lancaster Takes a Loss

Lancaster fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Fennimore on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 16-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Eagles. The Flying Arrows have struggled against the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Toay Ragatz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 4-for-5 with four runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those RBI marked the first that he brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Timmerman, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Lancaster's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Fennimore, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Lancaster will be playing at home against Prairie du Chien at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blackhawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.83 runs per game on average), something the Flying Arrows will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fennimore, they will head out on the road to face off against Riverdale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
