Basketball Recap: Valley Comes Up Short

Valley lost against Clay-Battelle back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Valley Lumberjacks came up short against the Clay-Battelle Cee-Bees, falling 74-48.

Preston Luzader continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Clay-Battelle, dropping a double-double with 30 points and 14 boards. That makes it six consecutive games in which Luzader has scored at least a third of Clay-Battelle's points. Another player making a difference was Braden Ponceroff, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

Valley's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Clay-Battelle, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Valley will take on Tyler at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clay-Battelle, they have already played their next contest, a 70-45 win against Notre Dame on the 19th.
