Baseball Recap: Community Christian Has No Trouble Against Jacksonville Christian Academy

While Community Christian put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Jacksonville Christian Academy. The Community Christian Cyclones were the clear victor by an 11-0 margin over the Jacksonville Christian Academy Conquerors.

Tanner Pierce made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Colby Barnhill and Tee Bohne did most of the damage at the plate: Barnhill scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Bohne scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three hits gave Barnhill a new career-high. Jack Beamon was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Community Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community Christian will head out to challenge Wayne Preparatory Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, they will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Terra Ceia Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
