Baseball Recap: East Peoria Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

East Peoria put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Paintsville Tigers with a sharp 16-5 victory. 16 seems to be a good number for the Raiders as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Korbin Parker tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only four hits, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Ahrens, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Auggie Lohnes was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

East Peoria's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Paintsville, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Peoria will venture away from home to square off against DeMatha at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Paintsville, they will take on Moody at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
