Preview: Escalon Cougars vs. Patterson Tigers

Escalon is 0-4 against Patterson since August of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Escalon Cougars will take on the Patterson Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Escalon will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Escalon extended their postseason success on Friday against West Park. They blew past the Panthers 48-28. Escalon might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Escalon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joshua Graham, who rushed for 173 yards and two touchdowns. Jamin Miller also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.

Vista del Lago typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday Patterson proved too difficult a challenge. Patterson came out on top against Vista del Lago by a score of 28-19. The win was familiar territory for Patterson who now have six in a row.

It was another big night for Jeremiah Lugo, who rushed for 195 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Coby Joseph also helped out as he racked up 105 rushing yards.

Escalon's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Patterson, they have yet to lose a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record.

Escalon came up short against Patterson when the teams last played back in September of 2017, falling 31-21. Thankfully for Escalon, Gabe Sanchez (who rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also threw for 83 yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
