Basketball Recap: Central Starts off Right with Win over Metro Tech

Central had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Metro Tech Knights 110-27. Winning may never get old, but the Bobcats sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row dating back to last season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than John Mattingly, who shot 85% from the field to rack up 22 points in addition to seven assists and five steals. Those 85% field goal percentage gave Mattingly a new career-high. Dominic Rojas was another key player, going 10-for-11 en route to 24 points and six steals.

Coming up, Central will be taking part in a tournament against Valley Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Metro Tech, they will host Sierra Linda at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
