Baseball Recap: Middleburg Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Middleburg and Ridgeview squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Middleburg had to settle for second. They fell 9-5 to the Panthers. If the Broncos were looking for revenge after losing 7-1 to the Panthers when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Koen Hester was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. He also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season. Jackson Ingram was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Middleburg has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Ridgeview, they moved to 9-13 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Middleburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ridgeview, they will challenge Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
