Volleyball Recap: Cabrillo's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

There's no place like home for Cabrillo, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the Mission College Prep Royals by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Conquistadores, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The win didn't come easy: Mission College Prep scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 23-25, 25-22.

Adrian Silvas paced Cabrillo's offense, picking up 20 kills. Silvas got some help from Cody Lawton and his 50 assists. Matias Salguero controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Cabrillo's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-6. As for Mission College Prep, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-19.

Looking ahead, Cabrillo will welcome Lompoc at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cabrillo is facing Lompoc at the right time seeing as Lompoc is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Mission College Prep, they will face off against Nipomo at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
