Basketball Recap: Memphis Rise Academy Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three games, Memphis Rise Academy finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 97-21 loss at the hands of the Memphis Business Academy Execs. The match marked Memphis Rise Academy's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Larry Benson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Memphis Business Academy, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 assists. With that strong performance, Benson is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Teryck White, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Memphis Rise Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Memphis Business Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

The future could be bright for both Memphis Rise Academy and Memphis Business Academy: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Memphis Rise Academy will try to hand Pleasant View their seventh-straight loss when the two meet at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Similarly, Memphis Business Academy will look to extend KIPP Collegiate's seven-game losing streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
