Ellis hadn't done well against Spearville recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Railroaders walked away with a 12-9 win over the Royal Lancers. This was a revenge game for the Railroaders: when they faced off against the Royal Lancers on Tuesday, they had to take a 13-12 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Chloe Gillespie, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.3 stolen bases per game. Rylan Aschenbrenner also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Ellis has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games.
