Softball Game Preview: Irvin Rockets vs. Bowie Bears

For the first time this season, Irvin will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will face off against the Bowie Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Irvin and eight for Bowie.

Irvin lost 20-4 to Jefferson on Friday.

Irvin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrea Orrantia, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Bowie's offense. They came up short against El Paso on Friday, falling 16-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Bears were not able to get on the board.

Irvin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Bowie, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Everything went Irvin's way against Bowie in their previous matchup last Thursday, as Irvin made off with an 18-3 win. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
