Baseball Recap: Memphis Comes Up Short

After flying high against Wellington on Tuesday, Memphis came back down to earth. The Cyclones came up short against the Floydada Whirlwinds on Saturday, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Whirlwinds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 back in March.

Memphis' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Floydada, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Memphis is set to challenge their familiar foe Clarendon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Floydada will face off against rival Wellington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
