Basketball Recap: West 50th Street Takes a Loss

West 50th Street was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 76-68 to the Norman Thomas Tigers. The Seahawks were down 65-41 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Chris Taylor continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Norman Thomas, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 boards. Taylor has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last five times he's played. Xavier Joaquin was another key player, putting up 17 points.

West 50th Street's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Norman Thomas, they moved to 8-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

West 50th Street and Norman Thomas could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. West 50th Street (ranked 587th) will meet Graphics (ranked 183rd) at 6:00 p.m. on January 15th. Meanwhile, Norman Thomas (ranked 387th) will meet Bergtraum (ranked 143rd) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
