Preview: Spanish Springs Cougars vs. Galena Grizzlies

Spanish Springs is 8-2 against Galena since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Spanish Springs Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Galena Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. Spanish Springs will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.

Last Friday, Spanish Springs didn't have too much trouble with Reed on the road as they won 58-41. Given Spanish Springs' advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Reed is ranked 67th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Spanish Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addison Bowers, who scored ten points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bowers has scored all season. Makyla Elsfelder was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two blocks.

Meanwhile, Galena was the victim of a tough 58-38 loss at the hands of Damonte Ranch on Friday.

Spanish Springs has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. As for Galena, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-21 record this season.

Spanish Springs strolled past Galena in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 58-44. Will Spanish Springs repeat their success, or does Galena have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
