Baseball Game Preview: Chaminade Flyers vs. St. Mary's Gaels

For the second straight game, Chaminade will face off against St. Mary. The Flyers are taking a road trip to challenge the Gaels at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Chaminade took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on St. Mary's with a sharp 10-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Flyers in their matchups with the Gaels: they've now won four in a row.

Jack Pfeifer looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Collin Anderson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Chaminade: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Connor Meehan, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Chaminade pushed their record up to 9-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for St. Mary's, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.
