Basketball Recap: Memorial Takes a Loss

Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 49-36 to the Allen East Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Roughriders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Mustangs are ranked 23rd).

Allen East was led to victory by Rilynn Jones and Evelyn Lehman. Jones went 8 of 20 on her way to 24 points, while Lehman went 6 for 7 on her way to 16 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least a third of Allen East's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Miller, who posted a point and six rebounds.

Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Allen East, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Memorial will host Celina at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Allen East, they will welcome Hardin Northern at 7:30 p.m. on December 17th.
