Soccer Game Preview: E.E. Smith vs. Western Harnett

The E.E. Smith Golden Bulls will head out to face off against the Western Harnett Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. E.E. Smith's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Thursday, E.E. Smith didn't have quite enough to beat Harnett Central and fell 2-1. That's two games in a row now that E.E. Smith have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Western Harnett managed to keep up with Terry Sanford until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Eagles came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Western Harnett can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 400th, while Terry Sanford are ranked 157th).

Western Harnett's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-12. As for E.E. Smith, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

E.E. Smith skirted past Western Harnett 3-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Golden Bulls have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
