Football Recap: Marianna Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Marianna had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it six. They had to suffer through a 35-6 loss at the hands of the Leon Lions. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Beau Swearinger threw for 26 yards on five of 16 attempts. On the ground, Walt Maddox rushed for 138 yards and one touchdown.

As for Leon, their record now sits at 3-4. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Leon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trec Berry, who picked up 35 receiving yards and one TD, and also punched in one score on the ground.

Marianna has already played their next contest, a 42-8 loss against Holmes County on the 17th. As for Leon, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 45-10 defeat against Bradford on the 17th.
