Pamlico County had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Hobgood Charter Raiders get on the board and left with  a   5-0  win  on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Hurricanes sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
The result came thanks to  Avery Cain's shutout, as she gave up just a  hit and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 15 consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Kylee Morris was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with three  RBI, two  doubles,  and one  triple. That's the most  doubles  she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was  Hailey Shamblin, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
Pamlico County's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Hobgood Charter,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 8-9.
 Coming up, Pamlico County will square off against Falls Lake on Friday. The Hurricanes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Firebirds have averaged an impressive 6.3  runs per game this season. Hobgood Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
