Preview: Harvey Hornets vs. New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets

Harvey has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harvey has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Harvey beat Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood 44-40.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harvey to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rachel Neumiller, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Neumiller continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Braylee Keller, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, New Rockford-Sheyenne pushed their score all the way to 55 last Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Benson County [Leeds/Maddock] 61-55. While losing is never fun, New Rockford-Sheyenne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Benson County [Leeds/Maddock] is ranked 28th).

Harvey's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9-1. As for New Rockford-Sheyenne, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Harvey was able to grind out a solid victory over New Rockford-Sheyenne in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, winning 45-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harvey since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
