Soccer Game Preview: Somerset vs. Altoona + How To Watch

Somerset is 0-4 against Altoona since September of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Eagles will head out to square off against the Mountain Lions at 6:00 p.m. Somerset is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Somerset faced off against Tyrone on Thursday. The Eagles fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Somerset came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Tyrone are ranked 301st).

Somerset's goal came courtesy of Lily Witt, who's now up to 17 this season.

Meanwhile, Altoona had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They walked away with a 4-2 victory over the Blue Raiders. That's two games straight that Altoona have won by exactly two goals.

Somerset's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Altoona, their win bumped their record up to 7-2-1.

Somerset might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from Altoona in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Eagles were down 5-0.
