Baseball Recap: Wilson Gets the Win

The Wilson Bulldogs were able to grind out a solid win over the Central York Panthers on Saturday, taking the game 9-6.

Ben Kulp tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alex Ernesto was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Gabel, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Wilson has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Central York, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-11.

Wilson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-4 loss against Ephrata on the 19th. Central York does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
