Soccer Game Preview: Elizabeth vs. Sotomayor

The Elizabeth Bulldogs and the Sotomayor Wolves will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Elizabeth's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Elizabeth fell victim to Marquez and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 4-0 to the Gladiators. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1094th, while the Gladiators are ranked 397th).

Meanwhile, Sotomayor's game on Thursday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They came up short against Maywood CES, falling 4-1. Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sotomayor's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Elizabeth, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Elizabeth beat Sotomayor by a goal when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Elizabeth since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
