Basketball Recap: Carrollton Drops Season-High Score on Mays

Carrollton scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 76-65 to the Mays Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while the Raiders are ranked 69th).

Germani Wilson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mays, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 21 boards. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Davenport Cox, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Carrollton and nudges their season record down to 1-9. As for Mays, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

Carrollton and Grovetown will round out the year against one another at at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Carrollton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Mays, they will head out to challenge Creekside at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Mays knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matches -- so hopefully Creekside likes a good challenge.
