Volleyball Recap: Alief Elsik Comes Up Short

Alief Elsik was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the George Ranch Longhorns. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-1, 25-12.

George Ranch's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chloe Nguyen, who had five aces and four digs. Those five aces gave Nguyen a new career-high. Erika Gonzalez was another key player, getting seven digs and two aces.

Alief Elsik's defeat dropped their record down to 2-21. As for George Ranch, they pushed their record up to 20-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Alief Elsik will square off against rival Fulshear at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, George Ranch is set to take on their familiar foe Alief Taylor at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
