Hemingway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the South Columbus Stallions an easy 42-21 win. One positive for the Tigers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Trinity Strickland was a one-woman wrecking crew for South Columbus as she went 9 for 14 on her way to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karys Townsend, who posted nine points and six steals.
Hemingway's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for South Columbus, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hemingway will welcome Green Sea Floyds at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Columbus, they will host Pender at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
