Basketball Recap: Academy of the Sacred Heart Comes Up Short

Academy of the Sacred Heart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to the Southfield Christian Eagles on the road by a 37-23 margin. The Gazelles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Academy of the Sacred Heart's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Southfield Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Academy of the Sacred Heart will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cardinal Mooney Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Southfield Christian and Richard will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
