Softball Game Preview: South Mountain Jaguars vs. Washington Rams

South Mountain is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Washington a 13-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The South Mountain Jaguars will be playing at home against the Washington Rams at 3:45 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

South Mountain came up short against Cesar Chavez on Thursday, falling 27-8.

Alonnah Nodora made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Sarah Guzman, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Washington lost 18-3 to Copper Canyon on Wednesday.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for South Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

South Mountain skirted past Washington 9-8 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
