Football Recap: Teays Valley Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Brady Farmer and Cavin Mcdowell

It was a good run, but Teays Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 24-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Groveport-Madison Cruisers. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cruisers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Teays Valley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cavin McDowell, who picked up 123 receiving yards and one touchdown, and Brady Farmer, who threw for 191 yards and a pair of TDs.

Teays Valley's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Groveport-Madison, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Teays Valley will challenge rival Canal Winchester at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Groveport-Madison is set to square off against their familiar foe Reynoldsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
