Volleyball Game Preview: El Camino Eagles vs. Rio Americano Raiders

The El Camino Eagles will face off against the Rio Americano Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rio Americano took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on El Camino, who comes in off a win.

El Camino proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Casa Roble 3-2.

Meanwhile, Rio Americano was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Christian Brothers. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcons 25-17 in the first set.

Rio Americano took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-15, 23-25, 25-18, 16-14.

El Camino's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. As for Rio Americano, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-17.

El Camino might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Rio Americano in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
