Basketball Recap: Borger Comes Up Short

Borger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 79-40 loss at the hands of the Hereford Whitefaces. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-16.

When it comes to explaining why Borger lost, don't look at Tahqulin Brooks. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds. That was a full 60% of Borger's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Borger's record is now 2-12. As for Hereford, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Borger will welcome Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hereford, they will be playing at home against Perryton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hereford knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Perryton likes a good challenge.
