Baseball Recap: Providence Christian Starts off Right with Win over Rehobeth

Providence Christian had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Rehobeth Rebels 4-2. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 11-8 victory the Rebels walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Kingston Sims made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Sims was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Sims wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was David McClurkin, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave McClurkin a new career-high in hits (two).

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence Christian will take on Pike Liberal Arts at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Rehobeth, they will challenge Opp at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
