Volleyball Recap: Lourdes Academy Comes Up Short

Lourdes Academy was the 3-2 winner over Gulliver Prep when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Lourdes Academy fell just short of Gulliver Prep by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. Lourdes Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sophia Gonzalez paced Lourdes Academy's offense, picking up five kills. Gonzalez got some help from Jenna Acosta and her 11 assists. Finally, Nicole Plant kept Lourdes Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Lourdes Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Gulliver Prep, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Lourdes Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Berkeley Prep on the 30th. As for Gulliver Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against St. Thomas Aquinas on the 30th.
