Baseball Game Preview: Tustin Tillers vs. Ocean View Seahawks

The Tustin Tillers will venture away from home to challenge the Ocean View Seahawks at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tustin has five straight wins, Ocean View has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Tustin beats Ocean View with five runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Tillers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Fullerton 5-3.

Adam Whyte made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nyte Teeter, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Ocean View suffered their biggest loss since March 12th on Saturday. They came up short against Ayala, falling 15-6.

Tustin's record now sits at 8-13-1. As for Ocean View, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.

Tustin skirted past Ocean View 2-1 when the teams last played last Thursday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tillers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
