Baseball Recap: Jensen Beach Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Jensen Beach walked away with it. They never let the Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted since March 11th.

The result came thanks to John Gillen's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Jensen Beach is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-14 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Will Rader, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Jensen Beach's victory bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-12.

Looking ahead, Jensen Beach will challenge Suncoast at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Chargers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Dr. Joaquin Garcia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
